Frequently Asked Questions

Eyelash Extensions

WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent extensions that are weightless and comfortable. Lashes are applied with a lash adhesive to each individual eyelash, adding length and fullness without mascara.  The bond is designed to last until the lashes naturally fall out during their lash cycle.  Typically 3-4 weeks, though the extensions may fall out quicker due to improper homecare.  Once you notice your lash extensions are becoming sparse, a fill is required to maintain the desired look.

WILL IT AFFECT THE REAL LASHES?
When eyelash extensions are applied correctly no damage will occur.  This is why the appropriate thickness and length are selected based on what your natural lashes can support.  Lashes will fall out naturally on their own once they have reached their adult phase, and not due to the extensions.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BOOKING A FILL
50% of your eyelash extensions must to present when attending a fill appointment.  If there is less than 50% it will be considered a full set. Fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks. After three weeks it will be considered a full set.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE PROCESS
During the application, you are to required to keep your eyes closed. Lashes will be individually isolated and have an extension are attached until the desired look is achieved. A full set takes anywhere from 1.5-3 hours to complete depending on which style you are booked in for. The service is painless and relaxing.

HOW TO ARRIVE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your first appointment to complete the required form.  Please remove all eye makeup prior to your appointment. It is best to not have any eye make up on your lashes for 12 hours before your application. Extensions will not adhere properly if your natural lashes have makeup/oil on them.

HOW LASH SHEDDING WORKS
On average your eyes naturally shed 2-5 natural lashes per eye per day.  Keep in mind that everyone is different. On average in 1 week you will lose 21 eyelashes, in 2 weeks you will lose 42 eyelashes and by 3 weeks you will lose 63 eyelashes.

AFTERCARE
You will be sent home with a mascara wand to comb the lashes once your appointment is complete. When booking your appointment please take into consideration you must not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours.

Lash Lift & Tinting

WHAT IS A LASH LIFT & TINT?
Lash lifts are an advancement of the old fashioned “lash perm”.  Silicone pads are used to lift the lashes from the root only, creating a natural looking lift.  Giving the illusion of length and making the eyes pop.  Lifts are a great alternative to lash extensions for someone who doesn’t want the upkeep of extensions.  You can expect your lift to last six weeks. Tinting can also be added to the service to darken the eyelashes.

Tinting for eyelashes and eyebrows lasts 2-3 weeks.  A re-tint may be done to your lash lift if required in a few weeks once the tint has faded. Tinting is used to dye the hairs.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE PROCESS
You will be lying down throughout the entire service.  Expect your eyes to remain closed for 45 minutes for the lift & tint and 20 mins if you are attending a brow/lash tint appointment. The service is pain free and relaxing.

WHAT TO EXPECT POST TREATMENT

  • Microbladed eyebrows will take between 10-14 days to fully heal (depending on your bodies natural healing process.)
  • Microbladed eyebrows will be itchy, flaky, and may scab. This is to be expected and is a normal part of the bodies healing process.
  • Day 2-7 microbladed eyebrows will be VERY dark for the first few days following the procedure, but this will slowly develop into a more natural tone. Colour will fade up to 50%. The strokes will appear thicker, darker and may turn into scabs. The scabs will start to break down and shed around day 7 please note not everyone scabs. Hair stokes may appear bold at first, but will lighten up as the tissue heals over the ink.
  • Day 8-14 once the scabs have fallen off the eyebrow area will look cloudy and may look like you have lost pigment. Do not worry the area is still in its healing process.
  • Day 15-21 the pigment will start to show up once the area has healed and returned to its normal state. Sometimes this can take up to four weeks.
  • At the touch up we will fine tune any areas that have faded to much or did not take. It is important to realize you will need a colour boost every 1-2 years. We do not have control over your bodies healing process. You may need to powder/pencil even after healed results. This is a semi-permanent enhancement not a permanent one.

AFTERCARE

  • Only touch the treated area with clean hands to prevent infections.
  • Day 1- One hour after procedure you must wipe down procedure area with damp piece of paper towel with a small amount of antibacterial soap to remove any plasma build up. Repeat this step every hour until you go to bed then apply ointment.
  • Day 2- Start cleansing the eyebrow area with a gentle antibacterial soap daily. Apply ointment 3-4 times a day or whenever the area is feeling tight/dry. A pea size amount to cover both eyebrows. Do not over apply as to much ointment can cause unsatisfactory results. If you have oily skin then refrain from using very much ointment.
  • If you experience any mild swelling, apply a soft gel ice pack to your eyebrows for 5 minutes every hour until swelling subsides. Cover ice pack so that no water is touching eyebrows.
  • Do not pick any scabs, doing so can cause permanent scarring.
  • Your eyebrows must remain completely DRY (except for your once a day daily cleanse) until completely healed. This includes showers, moisture from saunas, Jacuzzis, steam rooms, perspiration from heavy exercise etc. Baths are recommended during the healing process. Any water exposure may cause unsatisfactory results.
  • Must keep your eyebrows out of direct sunlight and tanning beds (minimum 30 days). Not doing so can cause permanent scarring or fading of the pigment.
  • Take Advil after if swelling occurs and to reduce any discomfort.
  • No eyebrow waxing, botox, chemical peels for 3 weeks after treatment.
  • Consult a physician if complications persist more than 24 hours. Swelling, discharge, bleeding etc.
  • Please remember your touch up must be 4-6 weeks from your initial session.
This is not a one time procedure the touch up is required to ensure perfect brows!
